Southern Delaware Chorale

The mission of the Southern Delaware Chorale is five-fold: to provide a vehicle through which local singers can come together to sharpen their musical skills and share a love of choral music; to provide an opportunity for high school and college singers to perform challenging music beyond what they are offered in their academic settings; to bring well-performed choral music to various venues in Southern Delaware; to expand the number and type of music offerings available to local audiences and lastly, to embrace and practice diversity and inclusion as a group committed to sharing its musical artistry within all communities.

The Southern Delaware Chorale and the Delaware Choral Society in Kent County are working on a collaboration project to perform the Verdi Requiem in the spring of 2023.  We are planning on 2 performances, one in Kent County and one in Sussex County, DE.  This project consists of having a 40 piece orchestra as well as professional soloists.  Due to Covid-19, the Southern DE Chorale, as well as the arts in general have had to put all rehearsals and performances on hold, which has resulted in a loss of income.  These show stopping performances will enhance the music culture in Kent and Sussex Counties and bring a high quality level of appreciation and enjoyment to those who attend. Please support our cause in bringing the Verdi Requiem to Kent and Sussex Counties.
The Chorale is supported, in part by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.  The Division promotes Delaware arts events on DelawareScene.com.
