Mission: The YMCA of Delaware’s mission is to empower youth, foster healthy living, and promote strong communities. Our vision is a healthy, inclusive community where all people reach their full potential.

Established in 1889, the YMCA of Delaware serves more than 100,000 individuals annually at 7 full-facility locations, one urban youth development center, two outdoor complexes, one overnight resident camp and at over 40 statewide school partnership sites. We believe that we are stronger when our doors are open to all, allowing everyone the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

Our YMCA has served, and will continue to serve, on the front lines in responding to the pandemic’s health and economic impact in Delaware. Through partnerships and generous donor support, we have been able to provide hundreds of essential workers with emergency childcare, distribute over 250,000 free meals to families in need, and serve thousands of school-aged children in camps, virtual learning centers and after school programs throughout the pandemic.

For over 125 years, our YMCA has worked to empower youth, foster healthy living and promote strong communities. Our work prevents chronic diseases like diabetes, combats educational equity by serving more than 30,000 young people, and enables all Delawareans access to life changing programs. Last year we served over 100,000 Delawareans and provided over $6.3 million in financial support to ensure everyone had access to critical YMCA services.

About YMCA of Delaware

Established in 1889, the YMCA of Delaware impacts the lives of over 160,000 individuals each year through its 7 full-service branches, an urban youth development center, two outdoor recreation complexes, an overnight resident camp, and numerous school partnership sites across the state. We believe our community is strongest when everyone has access to opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive.

For more than 135 years, we've remained committed to empowering youth, fostering healthy living, and building stronger, more equitable communities throughout Delaware. Our programs address critical community needs by preventing chronic diseases like diabetes, promoting educational equity, and ensuring all Delawareans have access to transformative experiences. In 2025 alone, we provided $6.5 million in financial assistance, making life-changing YMCA services accessible to over 21,000 youth and adults statewide.
