A fundraiser for Plastic Free Delaware

$75 raised from 2 donors

$2,500 goal

I’m Dee Durham.

I’m fundraising for Plastic Free Delaware.

The 6th annual 2025 YES! Delaware Youth Environmental Summit reached more than 670 students who attended, along with more than 75 teachers/educators.  They were exposed to 5 keynote speakers, 28 breakout workshops with more than 65 speakers or panelists, and more than 55 nonprofit/agency/corporate exhibitors.  YES! inspires and informs Delaware's high school students to know more about sustainability and encourages them to get involves in environmental issues and projects at their schools and in their communities, while thinking globally, too!  YES! is always FREE to all attendees thanks to our community support!

  • A donation of $500 covers the travel & honorarium for a keynote speaker
  • Your gift of $125 covers the cost of providing the summit to one student
  • A gift of $50 helps provide transportation to the summit for a school or youth group team
  • Even a contribution of $25 goes a long way to underwriting the costs of YES!.

About Plastic Free Delaware

Mission: In order to improve the health and welfare of animals, humans, our communities and our environment, we strive to eliminate the scourge of single-use plastic pollution and to foster a culture of zero waste in Delaware through education, awareness building events, and advocacy initiatives.

Founded in 2008, Plastic Free Delaware is a statewide organization focused on making Delaware a cleaner, healthier, and safer place by reducing the use of single use plastics and encouraging zero waste practices.  With the help of our passionate volunteers, we provide educational programs, youth initiatives, special events, and undertake advocacy for policy changes at the federal, state and local level throughout Delaware.

PFD led the successful Delaware legislative initiatives to ban single use plastic bags in 2019,  balloon releases in 2020, and expanded polystyrene foam in restaurants in 2023.  To address food waste and decrease organics in our landfills, PFD launched the Delaware Community Composting Initiative in 2022.  Plastic Free Delaware is the founder and co-leader of YES! (the  statewide Delaware Youth Environmental Summit) for Delaware's high school students (www.DelawareYES.org).

Our DoMore24 in goal in 2025 is to raise $2,500 to support our youth initiatives. We provide waste reduction and composting educational programming to libraries, schools, and teachers throughout Delaware and we also host the Youth Environmental Summit (YES!) for Delaware high school students.  Through our youth programs we reach over 2,000 students annually. Help us increase that number by supporting us now through DoMore24 in 2025!
