This Spring, you can help  veterans and their families across Delaware learn to grow hope by supporting Heroic Gardens’s virtual program, Mission: Windowsill. Your donation will enable us to package up Horticultural actives, send them to a veteran and then meet with them via Zoom so they can establish their windowsill garden. We use a variety of seeds, live plants and plant based materials as our core curriculum with our goal to help veterans learn to use plants  as a form of healing (whether it be anxiety, PTSD, or low self-esteem). Working with plants and growing in the safety of their own homes helps increase cognitive skills, confidence and fights depression. It’s a scientific fact! The costs of our programs per veteran can range between $40 - $65 dollars (which includes shipping and meeting with a registered Horticultural Therapist). We will meet in groups of 15-20 virtually. This will also promote social engagement amongst veterans across the state and shared learning of  the science and natural connection they as humans have with the intentional activities.
