Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children

Protecting Children, Confronting Abuse

$5,230 raised from 52 donors

$3,000 goal

Every day a child walks in to her classroom weighed down by both her backpack and the memory of being abused.

One in ten children will be sexually abused before they turn 18. Nine times out of ten,  a child is abused by someone they know, love or trust. A child may not be able to tell her mom that she has been abused - because it was mom's boyfriend who molested her.

It's no surprise then that teachers, school counselors and school nurses are on the front lines of protecting children and confronting abuse.

For this Do More 24 Delaware challenge, the Beau Biden Foundation is asking Delawareans to donate $10 to train a public school teacher to recognize and report child abuse. Training a teacher puts, on average, an extra set of caring eyes on 24 children.

All funds raised during this Do More 24 Delaware fundraiser will be matched - doubling your impact and protecting twice as many children from abuse.

About Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children

Mission: Protecting Children, Confronting Abuse

The Beau Biden Foundation carries on the work and legacy of Delaware's 44th Attorney General - Beau Biden. Established after Beau Biden's death in 2015, the Foundation focuses its efforts on ending violence against children. We train adults to recognize and report all forms of child abuse and neglect. We work with children to help them understand the dangers they confront online. We work with youth-serving organizations to help them improve their child protection policies and trainings. Though we work with organizations in 20 states, the vast majority of our work is here in Delaware.
