Founded in 1996, The Chesapeake Silver Cornet Brass Band is a 35- piece brass and percussion ensemble formed in the tradition of British-style brass bands. The band is a non-profit musical group comprised of professional-level volunteer musicians from the Chesapeake Bay region including Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. The band is headquartered in Hockessin, Delaware.

About Chesapeake Silver Cornet Brass Band

Mission: Founded in 1996, The Chesapeake Silver Cornet Brass Band is a 35- piece brass and percussion ensemble formed in the tradition of British-style brass bands. The band is a non-profit musical group comprised of professional-level volunteer musicians from the Chesapeake Bay region including Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. The band is headquartered in Hockessin, Delaware.

In order to meet its mission to educate, entertain, and inspire, the all-volunteer band maintains an active performance schedule in the Mid-Atlantic area performing 15-20 concerts per year at various festivals, competitions, performing arts locations, churches, senior living facilities, and other entertainment venues. The band’s repertoire includes brass band arrangements of classical, brass/concert band, big band/swing, marches, jazz, and pop/rock music. The band is known for its emphasis on performance quality and its interactive repartee with audiences. The band has released eight CD’s and has been invited frequently to perform for regional and national music festivals and conventions.
