Delaware Children's Theatre

Delaware Children's Theatre (DCT) has been providing exceptional and affordable live family entertainment, performance opportunities and cultural enrichment in our community for forty-seven years. We strive to preserve the tradition of family theatre started by our founder, Marie Swajeski, while also finding and developing fresh titles to share with our audience. Our overarching goal is to bring the magic of live music and live theatre to children and families in the community, and to be a vibrant and relevant source of family-friendly arts engagement.

Due to COVID-19, the  Delaware Children's Theatre has been closed since March of 2020.  Community fundraising and grants are currently our only lifeline until it is safe to open to our beloved patrons. Our fundraising activities play a vital and positive role in DCT’s ongoing ability to achieve our goal: to bring the magic of live music and live theatre to children and families in the community.

About Delaware Children's Theatre

Mission: Delaware Children's Theatre (DCT) has been providing exceptional and affordable live family entertainment, performance opportunities and cultural enrichment in our community for forty-seven years.

The Delaware Children's Theatre has been entertaining audiences of all ages for over forty-seven seasons. In that time, it has grown to meet the needs of the community it serves. The DCT mission and goals have remained constant: to enrich our Children’s cultural life, to help young talent find its way to the stage, to continue a tradition of affordable quality theatre, to entertain families with exceptional theatrical experiences, and to preserve our Historic Theatre House for generations to come.
