DiAE is strengthening early childhood education in Delaware through arts integration! Please support our Delaware Wolf Trap early childhood program this year. DWT is a partnership between a teaching artist and an early childhood educator to provide professional development for teachers in the classroom, while engaging children in music, dance, and imaginative play.
Research supports arts integration as a best practice to positively develop well-being, academic progress, and active engagement of students. Participating in arts integration residencies allows teachers to feel more confident in engaging early learners in and through the arts to support students' cognitive and social-emotional development.
Program impact:
- Educational & programmatic support for teachers/support staff
- Tailored resources for teachers to use in future classrooms
- Increased social-emotional learning and socialization
- Foundational learning in literacy and math
- Sense of community & connection through the arts/imaginative play
DWT is modeled after the nationally recognized Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning Through the Arts. DiAE is one of 23 international affiliates and is the only provider of this service in DE.

About Delaware Institute for the Arts in Education (DiAE)
Mission: Established in 1982, DiAE’s mission is to enhance the quality of education in Delaware by delivering arts-integrated, multicultural experiences to students and teachers by inspiring the artist within. We bring diverse arts programming and professional artists to schools throughout Delaware. Our models of aesthetic, hands-on learning through the arts give students an opportunity to experience the creative decision-making and critical thinking necessary to see beyond their circumstances and make connections with the world around them.
Thank you for your partnership in delivering high quality arts programming across the state. Our programs connect students and teachers with professional artists to cultivate curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning. Your support will impact the lives of young learners for years to come. Thank you!
