ATTENTION CIVIL RIGHTS WATCHDOGS:

Right now, our team is hard at work in the fight to protect people living in Delaware prisons, challenge racially-motivated voter suppression, demand action on police accountability, increase equity in education, and answer every attack on our fundamental freedoms with the principled determination and relentlessness that is the hallmark of the ACLU.

Will you join us in defending civil liberties and protecting civil rights?

We fight for Access:

Access to Voting Rights: by supporting our work to expand access to the ballot, through vote by mail options, expanded registration opportunities, and methods of voting for eligible incarcerated voters. The right to vote, and to have one’s vote accurately and fairly counted, is a fundamental right of all American citizens — and one that underpins the rest of our civil liberties.

Access to Education: by supporting our hands-on work in schools and communities to reform discipline, expand equity, and increase resources. All of Delaware’s students deserve a safe, equitable, and proficient education. Through advocacy and direct service in schools, our education campaigns work to ensure all children receive the learning environment that they deserve.

Access to Reproductive Freedom for ALL: by supporting our work to ensure everyone has safe and specifically affordable access to abortion services.  We work to ensure that people on Medicaid, private, and state insurance plans are able to access abortion care without financial burden. Funding abortion care through Medicaid, private, and state insurance will help break down socioeconomic barriers and address racial disparities in reproductive health.

Access to Justice: by supporting our efforts to expand access to second chances through record expungement and probation reform, and bring communities to the doors of Legislative Hall so their voices are heard.

We continue to see bills, actions, and decisions that are blatant attempts to control who has access to the ballot and who does not, who has bodily autonomy and who does not, who deserves to learn in an amply resourced and safe school environment, and much, much more. In order to create the change we demand to see, we need to elect equal rights champions to office, bring our communities into conversations about legislation that affects us, and reduce barriers to representation, resources, and the rights we are all entitled to in the US Constitution. Your local ACLU has been fighting relentlessly on all fronts – in the courts, with the General Assembly, and on the ground – to defend the rights of every Delawarean. But now, you have a critical role to play.

With your gift, we will remain ready to act quickly and decisively all throughout the year ahead to protect people's fundamental freedoms and defend our democracy.

Please consider giving to the ACLU of Delaware during this year’s Do More 24 giving day and help pave the way for progress.

On behalf of all of us at the ACLU, thank you for all you have already done to protect our civil rights. We are with you in this fight.
