From bikes to guitars, toys and games, clothes and gift cards, Halloween and Christmas parties for 90 teens in a group foster home, art lessons and everything else a kids can wish for, we give
We've created an additional program for 2023 focusing on teenagers aging out at 18 and moving out on their own called Clean Start. Clean Start will supply these newly-independent teens with everything they need for their very own first home - linens, pots and pans, glasses, plates, utensils, shower curtains, towels, cleaning supplies and paper products - allowing them to cook food at home, spend their limited funds on other necessities and take away some of the stress moving causes.
We will continue to provide wishes to kids of all ages in private and group foster homes.
Foster parents aren't required to give gifts to kids in their care and the state allows limited funding for things the kids want from prom dress to field trips, a hoodie that all their friends have or sports equipment to participate in school activities or learning a new skill and that's where Fostering Wishes Foundation comes in to help. A child makes the wish to their CASA volunteer advocate or coordinator and the State contacts us to provide the wish.
