Organization Mission:

SNAC Garden Foundation cultivates health, learning, and nourishment by creating equitable access to nature and food. Through hands-on gardening, science-based education, and sustainable practices, we inspire wellness, nurture curiosity, and strengthen community. SNAC Garden Foundation is the hub where community, nature, and learning come together. As the leading resource in Delaware for garden engagement, we build strong partnerships to create accessible gardens and educational programs that grow healthy families, sustainable communities, and a resilient environment.

Help Build Accessible Pathways in the Howard T. Ennis SNAC Garden!

Every student deserves access to outdoor learning—let’s make it happen!

At Howard T. Ennis, students of all abilities engage in hands-on learning experiences in the SNAC (School Nutrition Agri-Culture) Garden. Last year, construction on the greenhouse and the classroom pavilion were completed. This year, we are significantly expanding the garden space to include habitat areas, sensory gardens, play areas, and to grow lots of food! Our garden is a place where students can explore nature, grow their own food, and develop important life skills. But right now, not all students can easily access the garden due to uneven terrain and a lack of proper pathways.

We are fundraising to install ADA-compliant pathways to ensure that every student—regardless of mobility needs—can fully participate in garden activities.

Why This Matters

The SNAC Garden at Howard T. Ennis is a valuable outdoor classroom where students learn about:
  • Plant life cycles and healthy eating
  • Sensory experiences with nature
  • Hands-on STEM and environmental education
  • Mindfulness and social-emotional learning

However, without accessible pathways, many students face barriers to engaging in these experiences. By installing ADA pathways, we can create a truly inclusive space where ALL students can explore, learn, and thrive.

Our Goal: $2,000
Your donation will help fund durable, wheelchair-accessible pathways that will:
  • Make the garden safe and accessible for all students
  • Allow more classes to use the space regularly
  • Support Howard T. Ennis’ + the SNAC Garden's commitment to inclusive education

$25 – Helps provide materials for pathway construction
$100 – Supports leveling and accessibility improvements
$250 – Contributes to high-quality, durable pathway materials
$500+ – Creates lasting accessibility for generations of students

Be a Part of Something Meaningful!
With your support, we can make the SNAC Garden at Howard T. Ennis a truly inclusive outdoor learning space where every student—regardless of ability—can fully participate, explore, and grow.

💚 Donate today to help us reach our $2,000 goal and make the SNAC Garden accessible for all!

About SNAC Garden Foundation

The SNAC (School Nutrition Agri-Culture) Garden Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming schoolyards into vibrant outdoor classrooms where students of all backgrounds can engage in hands-on environmental STEM education, health education, and ecological stewardship.

Through weekly garden-based lessons, we provide over 2,500 students at Longneck Elementary, North Georgetown Elementary,  Georgetown Middle School, and Howard T. Ennis with meaningful opportunities to connect with nature, grow their own food, and develop lifelong healthy habits. Our trained garden educators lead lessons on topics such as soil health, plant life cycles, sustainable agriculture, and nutrition—ensuring every child has access to outdoor learning experiences.

By integrating gardening with science, history, and mindfulness, we empower students to become environmental stewards and cultivate a deeper connection to their communities.
