As a social services organization, Jewish Family Services of Delaware (JFS) acknowledges how people in our community may be hurting and want you to know we are here to help. JFS is steadfastly committed to our mission of strengthening individuals, families, and the community by providing counseling and support services.
JFS provides quality therapeutic counseling to ANYONE who seeks it. Our skilled therapists can help individuals process the traumatic events happening in Israel and across the globe.
As we have been doing for 125 years, JFS is committed to providing the highest quality of service and care. We are proud of the work our staff and volunteers accomplished in 2023. We impacted at least 3,000 individuals across our various programs.
- Through our RISE (Refugee Integration Support Effort) program, approximately 650 refugees safely transitioned from thirteen countries across the globe to Delaware, receiving compassion, care, and assistance.
- 91% of JFS clients reported that therapy has helped them enjoy a better quality of life.
- 99% of the older adults we served reported increased feelings of being supported and reduced isolation due to participation in community activities.
- The Sonia Schorr Sloan Maternal Mental Health Program launched its Mom’s Space support group for pregnant and new mothers with children up to the age of 2 years.
- JFS Youth Anxiety Program held weekly group sessions for 87 youths partnering with approximately 12 local community-based organizations and schools.
