VISION: Empowering all Delawareans through Literacy
MISSION: Advancing literacy through education, English language acquisition and advocacy for all Delawareans.
Literacy Delaware assists adult learners throughout the state each year, who read at or below a 5th grade reading level and/or who do not speak English, to significantly improve their literacy skills. Since 1983, we have helped 3000 adults in Delaware to speak, read, and succeed!
Literacy Delaware trains and supports volunteer tutors on whom we rely to deliver our programming, which is targeted to the goals of participants, leading to greater achievement of goals, which we measure throughout participants' instruction. We are proud that our learners achieve 90+% of their goals throughout the year.
Literacy Delaware relies on foundational grants and donations from individuals to deliver our programming.
