Organization Mission:

Our mission is to raise private funds for allocation to member agencies with meal-delivery programs. By providing both financial and human resources, we ensure uninterrupted delivery of meals to senior Delawareans in the comfort of their home.

We are a nonprofit organization focused on ensuring that every senior in Delaware who requests a home delivered meal can receive the support they need.

Funds raised today and throughout the year are used to support the (5) Meals On Wheels Programs in Delaware with the essentials needed to keep freshly prepared hot meals arriving at the doors of our senior neighbors.

As a special thank you to those who donate today, we have created a chance to attend one of our signature events as our guest.

Between March 5  starting @ 6 pm and ending March 6 @ 6 pm, all eligible donors will be entered in our raffle. 

Donations made either on our DoMore24 donation page or made on the Meals on Wheels Delaware website are eligible. Only 1 winner will be drawn for all entries; we will pick the winner live on Facebook on Monday, March 9th at 3 p.m.

Based on the level of gift, you will be entered to win. Entry levels are listed below:
$1 to $49 – 1 entry for 2 General Admission tickets to the Celebrity Chefs’ Brunch Sunday, April 26th, 2026.
$50 to $99 – 4 entries for 2 General Admission tickets to the Celebrity Chefs’ Brunch
$100 to $499 – 8 entries for 2 VIP tickets to the Celebrity Chefs’ Brunch
$500 and above – 15 entries for 2 VIP tickets to the Celebrity Chefs’ Brunch and 2 tickets to either Hats & Heels (Dover), the Beach Brunch (Rehoboth Beach) or the Ultimate Tailgate (Wilmington).

About Meals on Wheels Delaware

Meals On Wheels Delaware provides diverse opportunities for individuals, groups and organizations to make a financial or volunteer contribution that has a meaningful impact on the lives of homebound senior Delawareans.

We are a non-profit organization focused on ensuring that everyone in Delaware who requests help with a home delivered meal is able to receive the nutritional support they need, when they need it.

We strive every day to raise funds and awareness to support the local Meals On Wheels programs that are delivering a difference to our homebound neighbors.

In 2024, 963,716 hot and nutritious meals were delivered to more than 5,926  seniors statewide. About 1,000 individuals volunteered their time to hand-deliver meals to homebound seniors.

Meals on Wheels recipients are women and men, aged 60 and over, who often live alone.  The average age is in their late 70’s. Many are struggling to balance their needs on a fixed income, and are unable to shop or safely prepare a hot meal for themselves. Some require help when recovering from a hospital stay, but for most the meals are a long term lifeline.

Overwhelmingly, seniors who receive meals at home say a daily meal makes them eat healthier, feel more safe and secure, and remain comfortable to live at home.

The nutritious meal, friendly volunteer visit, and safety check help seniors cope with three of the biggest threats of aging: hunger, isolation, and loss of independence.
