Our mission is to create innovative housing solutions that address the root causes of homelessness and provide a pathway to permanent housing, economic independence, and improved well-being.
Springboard Delaware is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building affordable communities that foster health equity, upward mobility, and long-term stability for individuals and families in need. Founded in 2020, our mission is to create innovative housing solutions that address the root causes of homelessness and provide a pathway to permanent housing, economic independence, and improved well-being.
At Springboard, we believe that everyone deserves a safe, stable place to call home. We focus on developing sustainable housing communities, such as Low Barrier Navigation Centers (LBNCs) and Springboard Cottage Communities, which provide not only shelter but also access to essential services like healthcare, job training, and education. Our approach is centered on creating supportive environments where residents can thrive, build meaningful connections, and work toward self-sufficiency.
Our work is based on creating strong partnerships with state government, community organizations, and private sector partners. Together, we leverage resources, expertise, and innovative approaches to tackle Delaware's housing crisis and ensure that every person has the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
As we continue to expand our impact, we remain committed to our core values of compassion, collaboration, and sustainability. Join us in our mission to create vibrant, inclusive communities where everyone has the chance to succeed.
Our Resident Steward Program is a key initiative within Springboard Delaware's Low Barrier Navigation Centers (LBNCs) that empowers residents by involving them in the daily operation, safety, and upkeep of the centers. Through this program, residents take on active roles in maintaining common areas, engaging in gardening projects, monitoring safety, and responding to emergencies. In return, they receive stipends, rent credits, and opportunities for skill development.
Selection as a Resident Steward is based on demonstrated reliability, a commitment to sobriety, and an active engagement in weekly program hours, all of which align with a participant’s broader goals for achieving permanent housing. The program emphasizes mutual support, regular community meetings, and feedback mechanisms, ensuring that residents are integral to the operation and culture of the LBNCs.
Our Healing Arts Program at Springboard Delaware's Low Barrier Navigation Centers (LBNCs) is designed to provide residents with creative outlets that promote mental and emotional well-being. This innovative program offers a variety of artistic activities, including painting, music therapy, writing workshops, and other creative practices, all aimed at fostering self-expression, reducing stress, and building a sense of community among participants.
The program is led by skilled instructors and volunteers who guide residents through different artistic mediums, encouraging them to explore their creativity as a pathway to healing. By engaging in these activities, residents can process their experiences, express their emotions in a supportive environment, and develop new coping strategies.
The Healing Arts Program not only enhances the overall wellness of residents but also contributes to their journey toward stability and self-sufficiency, making it an integral part of the holistic support services offered at the LBNCs.
We are excited to announce plans for a Community Garden Program, an initiative designed to empower our residents through sustainable farming, community involvement, and valuable skill-building. This program will provide fresh, healthy food for the village while also offering residents the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to a self-sustaining community. With your support, we can bring this garden to life and ensure its long-term success.
COMMUNITY GARDEN PROGRAM
Program Overview
Our garden will be managed by residents of Springboard Village who will oversee planting, and harvest fresh produce. This opportunity provides not only a source of practical experience but also a pathway to self-sufficiency and skill-building. Participants will learn the fundamentals of urban gardening, composting, and sustainable farming.
The fresh, nutritious food grown in the garden will be used in the daily meal provided to Springboard Village participants, helping to ensure access to healthy food. Additionally, we plan to offer workshops on nutrition, cooking, and gardening to equip residents with the knowledge to make the most of the produce they grow.
The Springboard Village Garden will:
Provide fresh, locally grown produce that will be incorporated into the village's daily nutritious meals.
Offer stipends to garden managers, helping them build valuable skills and participate actively in the community.
Foster a sense of community by encouraging residents to work together to cultivate a space that benefits everyone.
Create a sustainable food system using organic practices and composting.
