Support the work of our Task Forces! DCADV's task forces are here to offer support to survivors, provide awareness and outreach of services, educate the general public, and advocate for policies that are important here in Delaware. They need your support to continue this work!
Women of Color Task Force The Women of Color Task Force (WOCTF) was established in 1999 – thus celebrating its 25th anniversary of service in 2024. Members meet monthly to develop strategies to increase public awareness of domestic violence – especially in communities of color – and available resources through education/training, advocacy, and support. In 2023, the WOCTF provided outreach to at least 1,391 members of the local community and conducted its first Zoom webinar since the pandemic (“Financial Wisdom for DV Survivors… & You”). WOCTF also hosts a fellowshipping event at DCADV’s annual conference for DV advocates and plans to again host an in-person conference this October, using the cultural arts to highlight DV prevention and awareness.
Women Empowered Against Violence in Every Relationship (WEAVER) The WEAVER Task Force is a vital initiative aimed at empowering survivors of domestic violence and providing them with the resources and support needed to break the cycle of abuse. Through education, advocacy, and intervention, the WEAVER Task Force works tirelessly to create safer communities and promote healthy relationships. Members' common experiences with domestic violence as a form of oppression provide the foundation and is the common ground upon which we can build, working together to end all oppression, to end violence against women.
