In 2018, the International Literacy Association launched its Children's Rights to Read initiative. It was founded on 10 fundamental rights every child deserves. Top of the list: The basic human right to read. Since then, the campaign has expanded to include Children's Rights to Excellent Literacy Instruction.
It's more important than ever to ensure that every child, everywhere, has access to the education, opportunities, and resources needed to read. Our Work: ILA is the professional home for literacy educators in Delaware and across the globe. For nearly 70 years, we have set the standard for how literacy is defined, taught, and evaluated. Here in Delaware, we provide resources, networking opportunities, and support for literacy instruction in schools through in-person and online professional learning.
