I’m fundraising for OperaDelaware.

Opera Delaware is making a big impact in our community and in our industry.  Their revolutionary Company Artist program has brought world class artists to make their home in the state of Delaware.  Company Artists have created  innovative performances throughout the state, education programs for school age children, and more community outreach than ever before.  Opera Delaware is also taking a revolutionary approach to their programming offering new immersive performances like Opera Deathmatch, Service Provider and a reduced version of Pagliacci.  The most revolutionary of them all is presenting the rarely seen opera Andrea Chenier during the Opera America Conference co-hosted by Opera Delaware.  Big ideas need big support!  Join the revolution of opera by supporting Opera Delaware!

OperaDelaware is thrilled to invite you to join us in revolutionizing the way artists are supported in the performing arts industry. On March 5-6, during Do More 24 Delaware 2026, we’re asking for your support to help fund the Company Artist Model—a first-of-its-kind initiative aimed at transforming the “starving artist” stereotype into one of empowerment, stability, and creative fulfillment.

This innovative program is designed to make Delaware a cultural hub, offering artists full-time employment with salary, benefits, and meaningful roles beyond the stage. By recognizing and leveraging the unique skill sets of artists—including creativity, passion, and adaptability—we are redefining what it means to work in the arts while fortifying our company’s operational strength.

Our Company Artist Model has received impressive recognition both regionally and nationally. OperaDelaware was one of three finalists in the Pete du Pont Freedom Foundation’s 2024 Reinventing Delaware competition with the Company Artist Model. This achievement highlights the urgency of addressing the employment struggles of professional artists, with over 95% of them working outside their discipline due to the unstable nature of the freelance economy. Together, we can lead the way toward a brighter, more sustainable future for artists in the United States.
