Help Us Build a SNAC Garden at Georgetown Middle School!

We are excited to announce a new partnership with Georgetown Middle School! Through this collaboration, SNAC is working with the agriculture science program to provide students with outdoor learning experiences that connect agriculture, ecology, and sustainability.
We’re raising $1,000 to transform an existing wetland area into a thriving outdoor classroom where students can engage in hands-on lessons that support science and environmental education.

Why This Matters
Sessions with SNAC in the garden will:
  • Teach students about sustainable agriculture and ecological systems
  • Explore the relationship between water quality, wetlands, and agricultural runoff
  • Align with core science standards while providing real-world learning experiences
  • Offer a space for students to develop leadership skills and a deeper understanding of food systems and environmental health
The garden will serve as a foundation for lessons on agriculture and the environment, helping students understand:
  • The role of wetlands in mitigating environmental impacts
  • How wetlands improve water quality and support biodiversity
  • The impact of agriculture and human land use on a climatic scale
In the long term, this project will create a permanent outdoor learning space, enhancing the school’s curriculum and contributing to the health of the local ecosystem.

Our Goal: $1,000
Your donation will help fund essential materials to revive and expand this overgrown wetland area, transforming it into a vibrant learning space, including:
  • $10 – Buys seeds and soil for student planting
  • $25 – Provides tools and supplies for wetland restoration and garden activities
  • $50 – Supports the construction of garden beds and pathways
  • $100+ – Helps with soil enrichment, irrigation, and long-term sustainability

How You Can Help
By donating, you’ll help create a living laboratory where students can explore the intersections of agriculture, ecology, and climate science—developing the skills and knowledge they need to be the next generation of environmental leaders.
Help us reach our $1,000 goal and bring a SNAC Garden to Georgetown Middle School!

About SNAC Garden Foundation

Mission: to enrich communities through cultivating meaningful relationships to nature, food, and personal well-being.

The SNAC (School Nutrition Agri-Culture) Garden Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming schoolyards into vibrant outdoor classrooms where students of all backgrounds can engage in hands-on environmental STEM education, health education, and ecological stewardship.

Through weekly garden-based lessons, we provide over 2,500 students at Longneck Elementary, North Georgetown Elementary,  Georgetown Middle School, and Howard T. Ennis with meaningful opportunities to connect with nature, grow their own food, and develop lifelong healthy habits. Our trained garden educators lead lessons on topics such as soil health, plant life cycles, sustainable agriculture, and nutrition—ensuring every child has access to outdoor learning experiences.

By integrating gardening with science, history, and mindfulness, we empower students to become environmental stewards and cultivate a deeper connection to their communities.
